Ipad Magazine Layout

Hi All!

The last project we did for the semester was to take a magazine article and redo the layout for an ipad magazine. I chose an article called, ” The Sky’s the Limit” by Meryn Rothstein. The Grucci family is one of the world’s most well known families in the business of fireworks. They have designed them for grand openings of hotels to centennial events and beyond.

Since these are for an ipad magazine they need to be interactive. The goal on indesign was to use its interactive capabilities to create a slide show and scrolling text and keep the article to two interactive pages.

The images below are three screen shots of how my project turned out:

On the title page the fireworks in the center have directions next to it to swipe for more images. There are 6 images of a few fireworks shows the Grucci’s have accomplished recently.

On this second page you can see the top of the article is a two column style with some breaking quotes. This text box scrolls up and down showing the rest of the article. On the bottom is a left to right scrolling timeline of the history of the Grucci family. I chose to make this a TNT box following a detonator to an explosion at the end to fit in the the theme of fireworks.

This is the third photo of what it looks like at the bottom of the page. I like the white line that break up the two texts boxes and shows that the two are separate, along with the direction of the arrows.

Any questions? Let me know.

Thanks for reading!
